The Microsoft Lumia 550 arrives with a 4.7-inch LCD display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels which leads to the pixel density of 312ppi. The Capacitive touchscreen phone weighs 141.9 grams which make it slim and light. The device is available in Black and White colours.
Configuration and OS
The Lumia 550 derives its strength from 1.1GHz quad-core processor seated on a Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210 Chipset. It is backed by 1GB RAM which collaborates with the processor to make sure the device functions up to its potential. The smartphone is powered by Windows 10 operating system, the latest version of Windows.
Camera and Storage
The device is stacked with a 5MP main camera which lets you capture your favourite moments. For selfies and video calling, it sports a 2MP front camera. The camera comes with in-built features like Face detection, Geo-tagging, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR) and Touch to focus. The Lumia 550 houses an inbuilt memory of 8GB which can further be expanded up to 200GB via an external microSD card.
Battery and Connectivity
The smartphone sips juice from a 2,100mAh li-ion battery which gives up to 14 hours of talktime on 3G. The phone is compatible with a wide range of connectivity features which include 3G, Bluetooth, A-GPS and USB support among others. The Microsoft Lumia 550 experiments in a low budget smartphones segment and with this device it does a decent job by bringing good overall features. However, comparing the device with some Android phones in the same budget, it is not that powerful. It could have done with better front camera and a 2GB RAM.
